An alleged Lewiston, ME. victim of aggravated sex trafficking, who was scheduled to testify against her fiance at his trial starting Tuesday, was reported dead Monday morning. If convicted for this Class B felony, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Detention hearings have been delayed again for a married couple accused of using Chinese nationals in a sex-trafficking operation in northern New England.
Rashad Sabree, 37, of Boston pleaded guilty in July to two counts of sex trafficking. When Sabree discovered text messages for help, he began assaulting one of the victims. A passing motorist, who witnessed the assault while driving on Interstate 95, called 911. Maine State Police responded and the defendant was arrested. “This case demonstrates the important role that the public can play in helping to protect those who are vulnerable,”
Police have charged a 35-year-old Lewiston man with aggravated sex trafficking as a result of their work this summer posing as prospective clients to find out if women were being forced or coerced into prostitution.
