The Gateways Program for Commercially Sexually Exploited Children is an intensive, specialized residential program for girls, ages 12-16, who have been victims of commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking. Gateways uses a strengths-based youth development model to assist young women in gaining the skills needed to return to the community as productive, independent young adults. The only such residential program in the northeast, Gateways provides a wide range of carefully supervised and structured services such as medical treatment, intensive individual and family therapy as well as art therapy to help these young victims recover from the trauma they have experienced. This program, which serves as a model for other child care organizations across the country, has been proven to work. Most of our clients are reunited with their families and return to school, jobs and a productive life.
